The enthusiasm of Mahaparva Chhath is the seen same in the heart of india as it is celebrated in Bihar. This Holiness festival celebrated by Bhojpuri-speaking people is known for the sanctity, hardship and tradition of worship. Chhath Mahaparva is celebrated every year at the Sheetal Das ki Bagiya at the edge of city lake. This three-day Mahaparva is celebrated with great enthusiasm worshipping the God Sun for well-being, progress and prosperity of the humanity, considering God Sun as the God of power, energy, and life.

Why is it called Chhath

Arghya is offered to the Sun in this three-day Nirjala fast. The main day of worship is on Shashthi, which is done on the sixth day of Diwali. It is also believed that Chhathi Devi worshipped the Sun God to fulfill her wishes. Since then it has been named Chhath festival.

5000 Eco - friendly diyaa were distributed among devotees

On the festival of Chhath Puja, the environmentalists gave away eco friendly diyas. Carrying on the tradition of its social concern, 5000 thousand herbal products made Diyas made from cow dung of Gau Mata, oatmeal and pulses which were used in the puja-archana program organized by the Gokashtha Promotion and Environment Protection Committee on the holy occasion of Chhath Puja festival in Kamla Park. Diyas were distributed among the devotees by Gokashtha president Arun Chaudhary, Mamtesh Sharma & Yogendra Saxena.

The Beginning

This fast began with "Dev", a small village in Aurangabad district of Bihar. Coming out of a small village, this small tradition has taken a huge form today.

Although the whole Bihari society is celebrating this festival in Bhopal, but today it is no longer just a festival of Bihar, it has become widespread in the world. I get many invitations from abroad to attend Chhath festival with them. Apart from this I assure you to run a New train for Purvanchal very soon. The Mahaparva Chhath of nature worship is probably the only festival in which the sun is worshiped. The purpose of this festival is to feel familiarity and proximity to the sun. Approved construction of a Metallic Ghat for the Upcoming Chhath

Kunwar Prasad, President of Bhojpuri Ekta Manch, requested Public Relations Minister PC Sharma to construct a Metallic ghat from Boat Club to Raja Bhoj Setu for the upcoming Chhath Puja, for which the Minister agreed and promised to get it constructed before the upcoming Chhath Puja. -Kunwar Prasad, President, Bhojpuri Ekta Manch, Bhopal

Honored on Chhath

During the Chhath Mahotsav-2019, a award ceremony was also organized on behalf of Bhojpuri Ekta Manch at Chhat Ghat near Sheetal Das's Bagia near Kamla Park. Among the awardee's Journalist Mukta Pathak and trekker Shashi Bhushan Singh were honored for their excellent work in their respective fields by cabinet minister PC Sharma.
