2020 Diyas: Welcoming Diwali @Gauhar Mahal

The Diwan-e-khas of Gauhar Mahal was lighted with 2020 earthen diyas adding to its rustic beauty. At Deep Utsav 2019, the vendors, shoppers and other visitors lit 2020 earthen diyas at Gauhar Mahal creating a memorable environment at the exhibition cum sale. They made a huge colorful rangoli with different colors, flowers and floating diyas. It is to be noted that every year at Deep Utsav earthen diyas are lit up at the Gauhar Mahal premises to mark the festival of lights Diwali.

This fair organized by MP Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation will run till 23 October. There is a collection of Home decor products, a beautiful range of Chanderi, Shibori, Silk, Mulberry and Maheshwari sarees. Also, there are so many stalls of decorative items and diyas in view of Deepawali. People visiting here are shopping for Deepawali.

While talking with Byline Bhopal the Incharge at Gauhar Mahal, Sudesh Shrivastava told us, “We organize Deep Utsav every year for the shopaholics to shop for Diwali. We began the ritual of lighting up the earthen diyas from year 2011. We organize Deep Mela every year during diwali and display special items for this festival and provide opportunity to the people to buy traditional and unique items for their homes.”

Beautiful collection of Handmade diyas

The other stalls are decorated with home decor and other stuff. Artisan Lakshmi Mota exhibited beautiful collection of handmade decorative diyas, toran, artificial mogra gajra and so many different diyas in beautiful shapes and designs.

Home decor items & Jewelry are main attraction

There are stalls that exhibited variety of jewelry. Jewelry designer Jaiprakash Prabodh from Bhedaghat brought stone jewelry in different colors whereas Artisan Riya Mishra exhibited beautiful unique and trendy designs of artificial jewelry. Womens are fond of purchasing these stuffs as these are very cost effective and unique. Apart from this people are also shopping for the diwali, that's why there is a rush seen in the home decor stalls as well.•
